Student Council provides the opportunity to participate in student government. The Student Council includes a representative from each grade level, an international representative, as well as four senior officers. The group is responsible for planning and leading student activities such as: homecoming week, Winterfest week, Spring Spirit week, blood drives, Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives, Christmas toy drives, recruitment events, and more! Class representatives are elected by their peers and officers and International representatives are selected by application and interview with school leadership. Each term is one school year with no term limit.
National Honor Society
The National Honor Society provides recognition to students with leadership skills and organizes them for mission and service work. The students are chosen based on their scholastic ability, character, leadership, and service to the school, church, and community.
Who introduced a theorem to find the radii of four mutually tangent circles? In what science fiction novel do the Morlocks feed on the Eloi? What is the complex compound responsible for emitting light in bioluminescence? These are the types of questions that our students are tackling in a Knowledge Bowl competition. Similar to other competitions it is a team sport, and they practice each week. But unlike a physical competition, the Knowledge Bowl is all about how much do you know? The team competes within their district in practice rounds for regionals held annually in the spring. In 2023, our Knowledge Bowl Team placed 2nd in the state! And for you curious brains, the answers to the above questions are René Descartes, The Time Machine, and Luciferin.
